Topic Description

Often the weather is something that we give little thought to beyond what it is that we are going to wear or how it is going to affect our commute. However, there is something more to it, the relationship it has with our feelings, the weather can and may be affecting your mood. The talk will begin by discussing the different factors that contribute to SAD, such as the body’s circadian rhythms and the impact of reduced sunlight on the brain. It will also cover the typical symptoms of SAD, including feelings of sadness, low energy, and changes in sleep and appetite. The talk will also cover how we can combat SAD and what are some of the small changes we can make to let some light shine through.
